Ludwig Heinrich August Bluhme (born in Mecklenburg, Germany as a son of a pastor) went to St. Petersburg, Russia and went into business for himself as an ex- and import merchant. He founded a trade of goods and worked very hard and assiduous, so he became a distinguished merchant at the local guild (Kaufmannsstand der 2. Gilde). At the beginning of world war one he went back to germany, because he has lost all his money. So he worked as a interpreter because he spoke several languages very well. He died 1929 in Berlin.

01.01.2003 Carsten Bluhme became head of the company. Now he modernised and expanded the company most of the time. Also he is always on the run for extraordinary, noble woods for the veneer-production. Over the years Carsten Bluhme collected many different woods, so we can offer our customers a great selection – even for unusually wishes.
